Q. What will be the temperature along the inside passage, from Vancourver to Skagway, in the month of September? -Margaret
A. Well, Margaret, this is just an educated guess, since temps differ from one year to another. I can probably come pretty close since we’ve lived in Alaska for 34 years. (and have loved every minute!) In our part of Alaska (Anchorage area) it is September now and we are having cool, rainy days and nippy nights. Haven’t had a hard frost here yet, but 360 miles north where some of our kids live, it has frosted 3 times. I would guess that your cruise, if that is what you are planning, will find days in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s and nights maybe mid 30’s to mid 40’s. In other words, bring a warm windbreaker or coat, with a sweater or two for layering and don’t forget that umbrella! You’ll have a wonderful time in our state, no matter what the weather!
