Q. What is Alaska like in August? I’m looking to vacation there about that time. -Aimee
A. August in general is ‘iffy’. It is close enough to fall that you might find yourself catching a bit of unfrozen snow from the sky! In other words, bring your umbrella! However, I have seen Augusts which were nice and sunny. Which is why I said ‘iffy’. I think this year we had about half rainy days and half sunny days in August. Of course that depends also on where in Alaska you are going to be. Alaska is so big that it is hard to give an accurate opinion unless I know where you will be visiting…but rain or shine I can guarantee you will have a good time!
